THE HIGHLANDS SCHOOL
Executive Director: Veronica Moreno
Mission
The mission of The Highlands School is the formation of Christian leaders who will transform society. We follow the Integral Formation® educational philosophy of Regnum Christi Education, which strives to develop the spiritual, intellectual, character, and apostolic dimensions of the whole person. The Highlands has a staff of 7 religious men and women whose
focus is the personalized character and spiritual development of each student. Highlighting this is the recognition we have received being named to the National Catholic Education Honor Roll (CEHR) every year since 2004, Cardinal Newman Society.
Why The Highlands?
We provide excellent education for students to face the world with solid spiritual formation to change it! Highlights: average college scholarships awarded per student is $95,000; 43 All-District Athletic Awards; 13 Academic All-State Awards; 75% of High School students participate in sports with a “no-cut policy”.
We are a very vibrant community of families with mutual love and support for each other. Highlights: Football Tailgate Parties; Family Fall Festival; Homecoming Week Celebrations; Field Days; Clash of the Classes; Parents Club; Musical Theater; Challenge/Conquest Facilitators; Sporting Events.
With a Formation Team of 7 fully integrated priests and consecrated women, we provide our students with a solid Catholic faith that includes daily Mass, daily religion class, the sacraments, adoration, retreats, and local/international mission trips.
Student Leadership Opportunities
The Highlands School offers a variety of student leadership opportunities including Challenge and Conquest Leaders, Student Council, National Honor Society, Pro-Life, Praise & Worship Band, Altar Servers, Student Ambassadors, Varsity and Junior Varsity Sports, and Theater.
The purpose of the education at The Highlands School is not simply to help us increase in knowledge of a subject but to encourage us to use our Christian intellect to grow in wisdom and see God in all of our work. This became evident when I took Philosophy and English class. What I learned in those classes expanded my perspective of life and helped me develop a foundation of truths and morals that I will rely on for the rest of my life.
