SPSA is a PreK-8th grade elementary school in East Dallas.  We have an opening for a Middle School English teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

General Summary of the Position

This position reports to the Principal. This position is in charge to plan, manage and teach the assigned class on a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

A.     Supports and implements the philosophy of Catholic Education.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESS
A.     Demonstrates evidence of prior planning and preparation.

B.     Uses effective teaching techniques, strategies, and skills during lesson.

C.     Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.

D.     Uses instructional time efficiently and effectively. Valuates student progress effectively.

E.     Provides for individual differences.

F.      Demonstrates ability to motivate students.

G.    Maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning.

H.    Manages student behavior in a constructive manner.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
A.     Works cooperatively with administration.

B.     Works as a team member with educational staff.

C.     Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with students.

D.     Maintains positive interpersonal relations with parents and other members of the academy community.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND GROWTH
A.     Maintains professional manner in classroom and other academy related settings.

B.     Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility.

C.     Actively and cooperatively participates in responding to total academy needs.

D.     Keeps abreast of development in curriculum and the learning process.

F.      Takes advantage of opportunities to further professional growth.

G.    Attend all faculty meetings and in-service meetings scheduled by the academy or Diocesan Schools Office.

H.    Attend special functions asked of me by the academy.

I.       Comply with rules/guidelines of academy and diocese.

J.      All other duties as assigned by the principal

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Positive attitude and ability to relate well with others and work as a team member

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required
3+ years teaching experience preferred
