School Description: Serving the Lake Highlands neighborhood of Dallas since 1964, St. Patrick Catholic School seeks to transform our students, families, faculty and community through rigorous engagement with academic excellence, faith formation and service learning. With a current enrollment of 420 PreK3 – 8 students, our program offers dynamic programming through our SmartLab Innovation Center, a robust student services department, including a child life specialist, and our semi-departmentalized classrooms beginning in first grade.

Our mission is enlivened through our study of virtues, community building and restorative practices through our Virtue Based Restorative Discipline and full engagement with Catholic Social Teaching. Our grade level service-learning program provides all students and their families meaningful community service integrated with instruction and reflection allowing students to fully incorporate Gospel values and Catholic Social Teachings into their lives.

Teacher – Long Term Substitute PK3
Position Start Date: March 20, 2023
Each teacher is charged with the goal of living and incorporating the St. Patrick School mission into all aspects of community and academic life. Under the direction of the school principal, the teacher implements by instruction, action, and example the school’s mission, philosophy, and vision of education, instructional goals and objectives.

The long term substitute teacher:
-Prepares for classes by making necessary copies (masters provided), gathering supplies and materials prior to the instructional time. An aide is available to help with this.
-On campus from 7:30a-3:45p Monday-Friday.
-Emails weekly digital newsletter to families via RenWeb. These newsletters will be provided by teacher prior to start of leave.
-Systematically implements instruction based on diocesan curriculum and including relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. Lesson plans and materials will be provided by teacher prior to start of leave.
-Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, diocesan policy or administrative regulations. Evaluates students for end of year benchmark.
-Provides a positive Christian role model for students through actions, words, and attitudes.
-Participates and engages in the Virtues Based Restorative Discipline system at St. Patrick.
-Prioritizes and implements social and emotional learning in classroom.
-Communicates regularly with parents and students to provide systematic reporting and open dialogue. Communication should follow the standards established by the school and expressly described in the Faculty Handbook.
-Provides a safe and orderly environment by way of clearly stated behavioral expectations which are consistently applied.
-Abides by and enforces the procedures and directives in the Faculty Handbook, the Student/Parent Handbook and the Handbook of Policies and Procedures for Elementary and Secondary Schools.
