Description: Provide first aid and general clinic care, conduct health screenings and communicate with parents/guardians under the guidance and direction of the school nurse.
Reports to: School President/School Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
Help to organize and maintain the health office/clinic.
Maintain clinic supply inventory.
Administer medications under the direct supervision of the nurse.
Maintain medication count. Notify parent and school nurse of medication refill needs.
Appropriately document clinic visits and care.
Assist the nurse with compliance review of immunization records.
Provide first aid and care for minor illnesses and injuries according to established protocols.
Share health information with the nurse.
Assist with set up, screening and documentation of health screenings.
Comply with policies and protocols established by federal and state laws.
Overall: TheClinic Assistant will function under the guidance and supervision of the school nurse while adhering to the TCCB ED Health Protocols.
High School diploma or GED
Certified by Texas Department HHS to conduct vision and hearing screening (or become certified within six months)
Current CPR certification (or become certified within six months)
One (1) year experience in health related position preferred
