Mary Immaculate School is seeking a Physical Education Teacher and an Athletic Director for the 2022-2023 school year. The ideal candidate is experienced, enjoys children, has excellent classroom management, sets high expectations for student achievement and is a practicing Catholic.

Minimum qualifications:

·Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

·Hold or be eligible for a teaching certificate (not required for Athletic Director)

·Comfortable and knowledgeable using technology

We will look to our Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher to:

•Support the school’s mission and be active in the life and culture of the school and parish community

•Represent Mary Immaculate School at community functions as needed

•Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of Mary Immaculate Catholic School and the Diocese of Dallas

•Initiate or develop other programs relative to the job description

•Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned by the principal

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Models and teaches Catholic doctrine, values, and morals.

•Works cooperatively with administrators, faculty, students and parents to form a faith community in the school and parish.

•Prepares lesson plans and teaches in assigned subject area and grade level in accordance with state and diocesan guidelines.

•Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.

•Recognizes the variety of student learning styles and facilitates learning by adapting instructional methods and teaching materials to student needs.

•Uses various assessments to measure student growth.

•Assigns and monitors student activities to promote student learning.

•Supervises students within the school. Supervises students both at and away from the school when participating in school-sponsored activities in an official capacity.

•Consistently enforces the school’s discipline policies to maintain student behavior and discipline in the classroom.

•Raise the profile, participation levels, and enjoyment of the PE and athletic programs

•Encourage students to develop their skills in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities

•Plan and deliver quality skills-based PE lessons with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum

•Maintain PE equipment, update equipment inventory, and prepare equipment for all lessons

•Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all students in the PE program by establishing a safe environment that is conducive to learning

•Collaborate with fellow physical education team members for the advancement of the PE program

•Communicates regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress.

•Maintains school records as required by school policy.

•Must be able to implement school safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move at least 25 pounds.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities for Athletic Director:

The Athletic Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school’s athletic programs. The Athletic Director is to closely monitor the coaches, the students, and the volunteers involved in the athletic program to ensure compliance with all school policies. The Athletic Director works closely with administration concerning athletics matters and ensures that the athletic program effectively meets the needs of the student body and reflects the intent of the Athletic Philosophy set forth in the Handbook.
