SUMMARY
Bishop Lynch High School seeks a mission-driven professional who will serve as the temporary assistant
athletic trainer. The assistant athletic trainer will provide athletic training services to the student athletes of
Bishop Lynch High School under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician,
and in accordance with the state athletic training practice act. Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the
Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of
injuries within the Bishop Lynch’s comprehensive sports medicine program.
JOB EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Attend practice sessions and athletic contests as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer, nights, weekends,
and holidays as necessary.
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room
• Maintenance of student athlete files and injury documentation using Rank One
• Ability to provide emergency care and rehabilitation for student athletic injuries
• Evaluation, care, and prevention of athletic injuries
• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and injury prevention
• Develop and implementation of rehabilitation protocols
• Knowledge of the use of ImPACT Neurocognitive Testing
• Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes and student aides
• Proper communication with coaching staff, athletes, parents, and other staff members
• Other duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer or administrative staff
QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education as a mission of the Catholic Church.
• Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field required.
• 1+ year of secondary school experience in the related field required.
• Valid license from the Texas State Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers (BOC Certification preferred)
• American Heart Association or equivalent First Aid, CPR, AED Certified
• Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.
