WELCOME CENTER – ON CALL SUPPORT (Non-Exempt)

OVERVIEW
Bishop Lynch High School is a Catholic college preparatory school whose proven excellence in academics, arts, and athletics provides students with the opportunity to receive a first-rate, well-rounded education combined with an exciting and inspiring campus life.

SUMMARY
The Welcome Center Staff provides the first impression of the school and is responsible for extending hospitality to all visitors as if they were Christ himself.  The Receptionist promotes safe, orderly service in a professional, hospitable manner.
Reporting to the Director of Logistics, the Welcome Center hours are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.

JOB DESCRIPTION/EXPECTATIONS
Ensure that the Welcome Center desk is consistently monitored throughout the school day
Maintain a clean, neat workspace
Maintain a well-groomed, modest and professional appearance
Answer the telephone within three rings in a clear and friendly manner, direct calls as necessary, take and relay messages appropriately
Communicate with personnel at the Safety Kiosk regarding visitors who will be arriving at the Welcome Center and engage with those visitors
Greet all incoming students, families and guests with a clear welcome
Receive mail from delivery services and items (books, clothing, supplies) from families, making sure that the correct student receives the items
Assist students in use of the Attendance Kiosk with check in and out procedures
Assist families with the appropriate check-out procedures when a student is leaving campus
Assist identified volunteers who arrive to the campus, ie. Locker volunteers, athletic volunteers, etc.
Ensure all campus visitors are registered appropriately, receive a Visitors Badge and lanyard, and are escorted by a BL employee when visiting secured areas of the school
Be prepared to contact the Director of Logistics should a concern or alert be warranted
Coordinate with the Director of Logistics to report suspicious activity and/or possible emergency responses.
Be familiar with the Standard Response Protocols and be prepared to initiate a response protocol
Effectively perform all other duties as outlined in the Welcome Center Responsibilities and as assigned by the Director of Logistics

REQUIREMENTS
Self-starter, professional presentation, ability to multi task
Knowledge of computers and customer service principles and practices
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
Ability to work with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with others, and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills
Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred
