Bishop Dunne is seeking a part-time custodian to join our facilities group.  The position will require availability Monday – Friday from 4:30 pm – 9:30 pm, not to exceed 25 hours per week.

General Duties: Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Hours based on school needs and summer hours as assigned. Work Hours scheduled not to exceed 25 per week.

Reports to: Director of Facilities and Maintenance
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience: Previous custodial experience, minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred

Special Knowledge/Abilities:
• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift equipment
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
• Ability to operate hand tools and use of ladder

Specific Duties:
• Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, whiteboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms
• Keep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and common areas, neat and clean
• Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed
• Assist with cafeteria set up, including arranging tables and chairs
• Move furniture or equipment within building as directed by supervisor
• Assist in setting up facilities for special events
• Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities
• Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately
• Perform specific duties on a daily basis for detailed cleaning as a result of COVID -19.
• Maintain confidentiality
